“Neither do I,” rumbled the elephant through a vocoder embedded in its tusk.
Their hands — man and trunk — met in an electric clasp. Cameras floated around them, broadcasting the moment across solar systems. Two survivors of dead empires, forging a peace not through force, but through grit.
Somewhere in the distance, a synthwave melody pulsed from a noodle stall radio.
